Editorial standards

Our readers make costly decisions and do hands-on repairs based on what we publish. These standards apply to every page on the site.

Accuracy

  • Sources first. Technical claims are checked against manufacturer documentation, operator and service manuals, recognized standards and established engineering principles. Where sources disagree, we say so.
  • Ranges, not false precision. Floor scrubbers vary widely by model and configuration. We give typical ranges and explain what moves a number up or down, rather than quoting a single figure as universal.
  • Estimates are labeled. Modeled figures, such as productivity, labor cost and runtime, are labeled as Scrubber Guide estimates and come with their formula and assumptions. See how we research.
  • No invented specifics. We do not publish model specifications, prices or error-code meanings we cannot verify. That is why our error code guides are organized by fault family rather than by guessed code numbers.

Safety

Any guide involving batteries, electrical parts, chemicals, ramps or lifting includes the relevant safety steps. Our guidance never replaces the manufacturer's operator manual, safety labels or the chemical's Safety Data Sheet (SDS). Where they conflict, follow the manufacturer and the SDS.

Independence

  • No manufacturer, dealer or distributor pays for coverage, rankings or favorable treatment.
  • Companies we write about do not review or approve our content before publication.
  • Brand pages describe each company's range, technology and service considerations on the same basis, and every one ends with questions to put to the dealer.
  • Advertising, where shown, is kept separate from editorial content and has no influence over what we write.

Updates and dates

Every guide shows the date it was last updated. We review guides when standards, technology or typical pricing change, and when readers point out problems. A date changes only when the content has been meaningfully reviewed.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it promptly and, for substantive errors, note the correction on our corrections page.

Writing style

We write in plain language for working professionals. We define technical terms the first time they appear, and our glossary collects them in one place. We use US units first, with metric where it helps.
